ABOUT THE SCOOP
THE SCOOP is an original rock band based in Rockland County, NY. Formerly DRIVE, a popular cover band, we shifted focus and became THE SCOOP during the pandemic lockdown, rolling up our sleeves and devoting our time to creating fun, interesting, timely, topical tunes that will get you moving. We play clubs and private events throughout the tri-state metro area, and we always make it deliciously fun!
Who is The Scoop?
RHEA VOGEL
Lead vocals and percussion
Rhea has performed professionally since her teens, starting in NYC’s Off Broadway and then in various local theatrical endeavors and bands, including Antrim Playhouse, The Nyack Village Theater, Re-Group, New York Streets, Jazz Spirit, Downtown Saturn and Drive. Her vocal pyrotechnics bring chills to audiences and have garnered her a strong following, as fans come to hear her renditions of their favorite covers and Scoop originals.
RAY LABELLA
Lead vocals, bass & rhythm guitar
Ray has been performing since he was a child, with a debut at the age of 5 at the World's Fair. The primary songwriter of The Scoop, Ray has been writing and recording his original music for decades, releasing 6 albums of original songs and has been an integral part of local bands such as Unborn Mind, Downtown Saturn and The Ray-Band Bob Dylan Tribute.
NAOMI CAMILLERI
Keyboards, backing vocals
Naomi began her musical journey at the age of 4 when she learned her first song on the piano from her father, a professional jazz musician. A classically trained pianist, she returned to her love of rock and pop in her twenties, writing songs and releasing her debut album Palace in 2005. She joined Drive in 2016, happily finding her musical home as the band became The Scoop.
MARK VALENTINE
Lead guitars, backing vocals
Mark has been playing guitar since his teens, and killing it. His riffs fly off the neck with a speed and melodic grace that makes everyone stop and listen. A vital member of the Beatles tribute band, Oh Bla Di, Mark has played for decades with many successful local bands such as FarQ and Axe Attack, and now focuses his musical prowess on The Scoop.
MATT GRAFF
Drums
An accomplished musician and graduate of Berkeley School of Music, Matt lays down the beats for The Scoop when he is not touring with The Life and Music of George Michael tribute band or recording other prominent acts at his studio in Irvington, NY, The Koop.
